My dreams of being inducted into the honor society are getting closer to becoming reality. As I approach this reality it brings to mind the ninth grade when I entered in the high school an ignorant and immature teen. I never even considered that I could achieve the level of standards of the National Honor Society. It was two years ago at the end of my sophomore year that I realized how mush I wanted this. When I came back to school as a junior I decided that no one and nothing was going to destroy my dreams of becoming a successful young woman. That is when I began to make the transition between a girl and a young woman.
In this process I decided that I wanted to be a member of the National Honor Society. In order for this to happen I would have to get distinguished honors four out of five times of the years to come. It was going to be difficult but I knew I could do anything I put my mind to. It was a lot of sleepless nights, staying up to study to ace the test in the morning. I did it, and I do not regret any of it. So now as I approach success’s doorstep I have a few more obstacles in my path, and this is one of them.
It is very important for me to be a member of the National Honor Society because I have worked so hard to get here and it would be devastating for me if I did not achieve this goal. Another reason it is important is because I’ve never really been recognized for anything outstanding. My mother has three children including myself and she would be so proud of me for being the first child of three to be in this organization.
